Description
It was really exciting to learn about OLED and to play with OLED light sources at the OLED Academy – October-December 2018 Copenhagen, DK. Using this very thin light source, I have designed and made a desk lamp – Oled-Olor. The shape was inspired by a swan and its beautiful neck; hence the name OLED-OLOR (Olor – Swan in Latin). Table lamps can be used in many places, both as decorative cozy lighting, as functional lighting for a reading corner or in the office. OLED-OLOR is intended more as a work lamp that provides good lighting on the desk. A personal work lamp for better working environment. OLED distributes the light softly over the work area and provides constant, diffused and pleasant working light. The lamp is portable and can be moved around freely and placed where it is needed, just like the Swan’s movements on the surface of the water. The lamp can also be used as a wall lamp (clip on the wall).
The power supply is integrated in the cylindrical foot and there is also space for a dimmer – dimmable function.
The design goal was: Functionality – aesthetics – choice of material.
I am fully satisfied of the result – OLED-OLOR.
I would like to thank everyone involved in this OLED Academy. Especially the organizers ElFosk, DTU Fotonik, DCL, OLED Works, Kaneka and the modeler Morten Lyhne.
